SHOPLIFTING EXPOSÉ NETS DISPATCHES BIGGEST AUDIENCE OF THE YEAR
The programme attracted 1.2 million viewers, with a 7.3% share that exceeded the primetime benchmark by 8%.
Lion’s doc Britain’s Shoplifting Gangs Exposed presented and produced by Matt Shea for C4 netted the biggest audience for Dispatches for the year so far. Brave and revelatory, the investigation exposed a web of criminal enterprise behind shop-lifting and traced the roots back to Romanian gangs. The trail led not just to the theft of beauty products, Strepsils and razors but to the much darker world of people trafficking.
