Kensington Palace: Behind Closed Doors is Channel 5’s highest rated show of the day

Lion has been working with Historic Royal Palaces for several years, with three series at the Tower of London.  And now we have privileged access to the ultimate royal home: Kensington Palace, where generations of the Royal Family have lived for centuries. Our filming coincides with major repair work to the historic state rooms – mostly captured just before lockdown hit in 2020.  We are up close with the curators, carpenters, guides and gardeners as the magnificent palace is meticulously conserved, ready for public show. When Episode 1 of the series transmitted, over a million and a half viewers tuned in, making it Channel 5’s highest rated show of the day.
