Pompeii: The New Dig makes world news

2,000 years on Pompeii has made the headlines again. The excavation that Lion TV has been filming for a year revealed astonishing frescoes in a stunning 'black room' used for elaborate dining.  The beautifully painted frescoes are among the most stunning ever found in Pompeii, depicting scenes from Greek mythology, Helen meet Paris, and the god Apollo with Cassandra.  The finds made headlines on BBC News, in Britain and around the world - and were front page news on The Times newspaper.  The finds are a fitting climax to the dig and the three part series that debuts on Monday 15th April at 9.00pm on BBC2 and then on ARTE and PBS in the US.
