Step Up to the Plate wins international TBI Award 2020

Step Up to the Plate beat off strong international competition to win Best Live Action Kids Programme at the TBI Content and Innovation Awards 2020. Other entries in the category included Master Chef Junior USA and Globo format Game Crashers.

Step Up, Lion's innovative hit programme for CBBC hosted by Fred Sirieix and Allegra McEavedy, is an ambitious entertainment format in which youngsters between the ages of 10-14 run a restaurant - as waiters and in the kitchens.  Competing over several rounds, with difficult diners and celebrity guests, the youngsters are vying to become the top Maitre D' and Chef. Lion's team has just successfully completed filming season two of Step Up despite the challenges of the Covid pandemic. The show is distributed by Cineflix.
